DTC B0010-13: Open or Increased Resistance in the Front Passenger's Airbag First Inflator

DTC B0010-13 Overview

If a voltage on the detection line inside the SRS unit is higher than a specified value, the SRS unit determines an abnormality and stores the DTC.

Inspection Outline

The components to be tested are indicated by a dotted line.

Inspection Items

  • Front Passenger's Airbag Inspection
  • External Circuit LA1+, LA1- Open Wire Inspection
  • SRS Unit Inspection

NOTICE:
Before disconnecting the SRS related connector, do the 12 volt battery terminal disconnection procedure and wait for at least 3 minutes.

NOTE:

Since there is no direct method to test the component itself, troubleshooting is performed on the related components.

1. Front Passenger's Airbag Inspection

  • Test Procedure

Front passenger's airbag circuit inspection

Preparation

-Front passenger's airbag inflator 4P connector: disconnected

Procedure

  1. Install a jumper wire between front passenger's airbag inflator 4P connector terminals No. 2 and No. 3.
  2. Perform the confirmation procedure.

Normal Conditions

-DTC B0010-13 is not indicated.

  • Results

If it is normal, there is a problem with the front passenger's airbag.
If it is abnormal, there is a problem with other related components.

2. External Circuit LA1+, LA1- Open Wire Inspection

  • Test Procedure
Preparation
  • SRS unit connector A (43P): disconnected
  • Front passenger's airbag inflator 4P connector: disconnected
Procedure
-Perform the inspection according to the following table.

  • Results

If abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.

3. SRS Unit Inspection

  • Test Procedure
If the other inspection item(s) indicated a normal condition, then it is determined that the remaining SRS unit is the cause.
  • Results
There is a problem with the SRS unit.

Confirmation Procedure

Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then wait for 10 seconds.
